Ambulances are staffed with two personnel at all times. These personnel are both trained in emergency medical services and can provide care in all settings. Some times patients require both personnel to assist in treatment in the back of the ambulance while responding to the hospital. The fire engine responds to high acuity calls that may require a driver or additional hands for the ambulance.
